Affordable & Diverse Housing

Housing is the biggest expense for most families, and it's only getting harder to afford.
Affordable, quality housing = stronger communities. It supports jobs, education, and public health.
Here's how I'll lead on housing:
- Zoning Reforms - Continue making zoning changes to promote more diverse, affordable housing options across the city, especially mid-tier housing options like duplexes, multi-family homes, and courtyard apartment buildings.
- Smart Investment - Expand access to and funding for the Affordable Housing Trust, First Time Home Buyer, and First Generation Home Buyer programs.
- Tenant Protections - Fight displacement and support renters' rights.
- Growth Support - Establish low-cost grant programs for families looking to make additions and improvements to their existing homes rather than having to look outside of the city for their housing needs.
- Support for All - Ensure housing is accessible for everyone who calls St. Louis Park home—from first-time buyers to growing families to our retired population.
Bottom Line: When housing is affordable, people thrive—and so does our city. Let's build a more accessible St. Louis Park.
